I had a client contact me the other day; he was trying to get a brand new website to rank in the search engines. He had already talked to several SEO’s who had told him the keywords were too competitive and that there was no way to rank a brand new site.

I have to disagree with both those statements.

There are always going to be conflicting ideas on SEO and how it should be done, but a good SEO sees a problem and starts looking for a solution. The biggest problem in the SEO industry is that a lot of the SEO’s have gotten lazy; this is the real difference between a real SEO and a wannabe SEO.

A real SEO does not do a halfass job; he figures out a way to do the job and automates as much of it as he can. If you are not ready to put forth the energy to do it right, then it’s best to leave it alone.

This isn’t a White hat, Black hat SEO thing; it’s a good SEO thing.

It’s about dominating the competition and pounding them until they accept being #2 on page 2.

Being a good SEO means being random.

How to totally dominate the competition!!

This method will work with any site rather it’s a blog, shopping cart, sales page or whatever you want it to be.

Everything I am going to show you is designed to work around the main site as well as to protect the main site.

In order to protect the main site we will be building buffers around the main website.

The number of buffer sites is unlimited, and can be made up of self hosted blogs or web 2.0 properties like weebly, squidoo, hubpage, WordPress, Blogger etc. The idea is to piggyback off social sites that have already built up trust with the major search engines.

A buffer site can be pounded with lots of links quickly. Squidoo isn’t going to get penalized for building a lot of links quickly because it is already viewed by Google as an authority site and has been around for awhile. Google want treat it the same as they would a brand new website.

Each buffer site is targeting a different keyword.

The power of our main website is coming from the buffer sites and the buffer sites get their power from the sites linking to them like bookmarking, profile creation, blog commenting, ning, blog post, article directories, web 2.0 sites, RSS feeds, etc.

The process is never ending as we are constantly creating more buffer sites to link back into our money sites and more web 2.0 properties to link back into our buffer sites. Keep in mind that throughout the whole process there is a ton of deep linking happening. The buffer sites can link to one another however I try not to let any of the social sites that are linking back to the buffer sites link to any other social sites that might be linking to another buffer site. They can link to other social sites in their group but not to social sites in a different group.

<img title="bubblus_New_Sheet-1" src="http://www.geeksonsteroids.com/wp-content/uploads/2010/07/bubblus_New_Sheet-1-300x178.jpg" style="border: 4px; margin: 4px; float: left; alt="blackhat Search Engine Optimization" width="300" height="178" />I drew a picture to help you better understand what I am talking about, keep in mind that this is the simple version of what is happening and it can get a lot more complicated.

Now…here’s what would happening on our main site. I would come up with a list of 100 keywords, these are very specific action keywords and I would build landing pages for each of these keywords. A specific action keyword would be a keyword that would be more likely to convert traffic then a non-specific keyword.

To understand action keywords and how they work we would need to understand how a search takes place.

A) The majority of searches (let’s say 70%) that take place on any of the three major search engines are based on what we will call non-commercial search terms. These people have no intention whatsoever to make a purchase online because the majority of their searches are informational.

B) The second largest group of online searches (27%) is based on products and/or services. These individuals may make a purchase in the future but they are still at the very beginning stages of the buying process and thus are much more difficult to convert into sales. These searches tend to be very general in scope and the searching individuals, often times do not know what they really want at this point. And, selling products and/or services to those who do not really understand what they want is very difficult.

C) The smallest but most profitable demographic (less than 3% per day) is made up of people who understand what they need or want and are at the end of the buying process. These individuals often search by using product names, model numbers, and their searches may also contain additional buying words such as free shipping, discount, bonus, etc. which help us to convert the sale. Converting consumers who are using these types of search terms is much easier, frequently resulting in conversions as high as 10% – 12%.

Let’s take a look at Bill from Atlanta Georgia who just bought a new car and is looking for insurance.

Bill goes to Google and does a search for insurance, after looking through the top ten results he is overwhelmed by all the different types of insurance. We have life insurance, home insurance, health insurance, boat insurance, flood insurance and the list goes on and on.

So…Bill returns to Google and does a search for car insurance.

This is almost what Bill is looking for and he is getting a good idea on prices but he’s still not happy with the results.

So…once again Bill returns to Google and does a search for best prices on car insurance.

Now Bill is finding exactly what he is looking for and he is almost ready to make purchases but before he does…

He returns to Google to make one more search and this time its best prices on car insurance in Atlanta Georgia.

The more precise the keyword phrase the easier it becomes to rank and the more likely the searcher is to convert into a buyer.

So…I’m currently setting up landing pages to target about 100 of these action type keywords and once I finish the first set of 100, I’ll continue the process until I’ve added thousands upon thousands of landing pages to my site.

I’ll be getting incoming links to these pages from my buffer sites and to make the site stronger I’ll be linking my landing pages to other pages throughout my site. You see, every time I create a page on my site I am also creating more link juice to flow throughout the site, because each and every page I create starts with some type of PageRank.

Add in the links coming directly to these pages from my buffer sites and you can see a monster being created. What we are building is a site shaped like a pyramid with the most difficult to rank for keyword sitting at the top of the pyramid.

The bottom of the pyramid is made up of very specific easy to rank for keywords that are able to easily convert traffic into buyers.

This approach is different than most everyone else in the SEO industry. The idea is to work towards conquering the competitive keyword phrase while at the same time allowing the website owner to see immediate results and financial profit. It’s not about entering into a competitive niche it’s about totally dominating a competitive industry.

We can very well end up owning the first ten search results in the major search engines using this method.
